Runner Agreement
If you run errands on Zendrun, this sits on top of the Terms of Service. It covers your status, what you're promising when you accept an errand, fronting money, custody, check-ins, gear and conduct.
1. Your status
You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Zendrun or of any requester. You choose which errands to accept, when you're available, and how you get there. You are responsible for your own taxes, and for any licences your transport needs. Zendrun does not provide insurance for you or your vehicle; consider your own.
2. Verification and tiers
Before you can front money you verify with your NIN and a liveness check, your BVN, and a bank account in your own name. Your tier sets your limits:
- Tier 0 Unverified: ₦0 per errand, ₦0 outstanding. Requires Verified email (your login), Nigeria phone number (+234), entered.
- Tier 1 Verified: ₦25,000 per errand, ₦50,000 outstanding. Requires Phone number confirmed by a one-time code (WhatsApp, SMS or a call); one account per number, NIN + liveness selfie, BVN, Nigeria bank account, BVN-linked.
- Tier 2 Trusted: ₦150,000 per errand, ₦300,000 outstanding. Requires Everything in Verified, Proof of Nigeria address, 10 completed errands, no dispute lost.
- Tier 3 Pro: ₦500,000 per errand, ₦1,000,000 outstanding. Requires Everything in Trusted, Guarantor, 3-month bank statement, or a ₦50,000 deposit accrued from your fees, 50 completed errands, rating ≥ 4.7.
Lying about identity, transport or anything else on your profile ends the agreement and, where it caused a loss, is pursued.
3. What accepting means
When you accept an errand you promise to start within 30 minutes, to follow the brief and the check-in plan, to pay only what the brief and ceiling allow (asking in-app before exceeding them), to keep the goods safe from receipt to handover, and to be reachable. If you accept with less time than the estimate, lateness is yours. If you accept a hard-deadline errand, you accept that missing it through your own fault forfeits the fee and limits reimbursement to what the goods are still worth.
4. Fronting and reimbursement
You pay at the point of sale with your own money. Zendrun guarantees reimbursement from the requester's escrow for spend within the ceiling plus tolerance plus approved overage, on completion or 24 hours after you submit proof. This guarantee is the core of Zendrun and it holds regardless of what the requester does afterwards, provided you followed the brief and the check-ins and your evidence is genuine. Your fee is paid at the same time, adjusted only by the lateness schedule on the policies page. An errand you cannot finish for a documented external reason pays 40% of the fee plus full reimbursement.
You lose fronted money only when: you spent above every cap; goods were lost or damaged in your custody; or you missed a hard deadline through your own fault. Nothing else.
5. Check-ins and evidence
The check-in plan generated for the errand is binding. Each check-in requires the evidence it names: your location, photos, receipts, the handover code, screenshots, links or a call log. Missing a required check-in pauses the errand and notifies both sides. Evidence must be real; a faked receipt, photo or location is fraud, ends this agreement, and is reported. Your evidence is also your protection in any dispute.
6. Custody
Goods are yours to protect from the receipt timestamp until the requester enters your handover code. Photograph the condition at purchase and before handover. Perishables and fragile items need the transport the errand required. If the requester is unreachable at the handover point for the grace period, follow the safe-drop or return-to-hub rule in the app; you are still paid.
7. Conduct
- Act as yourself. Where you act for a requester (a call, a booking, a message), say so.
- Never accept a requester's login, OTP or PIN, and never accept cash or transfers from third parties on their behalf.
- Refuse tasks that turn out to be on the refusal catalogue; you are paid the attempt fee for doing so.
- No off-platform dealing. You don't give out your number; you don't take work from a Zendrun requester outside Zendrun. Doing so closes both accounts and ends the reimbursement guarantee for that work.
- Treat requesters, venue staff and the public with respect. Complaints are investigated and can affect your tier.
8. Gear and your QR
Gear is printed with a QR that opens your public page and is registered to you at handover. Wear it on errands. Don't lend or sell it, and don't use it to get into places where you have no errand. Registration is revoked when this agreement ends.
9. Ratings, tiers and ending
Ratings, completion counts, on-time rate and disputes lost come from settled errands and cannot be edited by anyone. They move your tier up and down. Either side can end this agreement any time from account settings once you have no open errands and nothing fronted; Zendrun can end it immediately for fraud, a failed verification, or a serious breach. Money already earned is still paid out.
